Specialized Bicycle Components Joins Fayetteville 2022 as Official Bicycle Supplier

Fayetteville 2022, the organizing committee behind the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in 2022, announced today that Specialized Bicycle Components will be the event’s Official Bicycle Supplier. The World Championships will be held on January 29 & 30, 2022 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Specialized will also be the Official Bike Sponsor of World Cup Fayetteville on October 13, 2021 which will be held on the World Championship site.

Fayetteville 2022 President Brook Watts commented, “On behalf of the Fayetteville 2022 organizing committee, I am thrilled to have Specialized on board as our first sponsor. Their commitment to cyclocross, the region, and Fayetteville 2022 event is strong. Their exciting activation plans will impress the 15,000 spectators on-site as well as the global TV audience. I’m looking forward to the tremendous energy they will bring.”

Maghalie Rochette, multi-time and current Pan-American Champion and a Specialized-sponsored cyclocross athlete commented, “I’ve been working with Specialized for two years now and it’s been pretty amazing. Not only are their products really good, but their support has been incredible. Now that Specialized is major sponsor of Fayetteville 2022, it will be an even bigger goal for me to do well there.

The UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships are the pinnacle of the international cyclo-cross season. The event will attract athletes from more than 25 nations, who will compete for the coveted rainbow jersey championship jerseys in six categories. The racing will take place at Centennial Park at Milsap Mountain, the recently developed Fayetteville city park located a short distance from downtown Fayetteville.

Rochette added, “Fayetteville has been on my radar ever since it was announced that the Worlds in 2022 will be there. Because of that, every opportunity to race in Fayetteville ahead of the Worlds is important for me, as I believe the better I know the area, the better prepared I will be to race well in 2022.”
